Sandy Bay Ojibwa First Nation – New Multiplex

LM were retained by the Sandy Bay First Nation to design a new retail centre to provide needed services to their community. The building contains a gas bar, grocery store, band offices, a laundromat, a restaurant and a tenant space for future development as well as provision for future expansion. The project is meant to generate income to the First nation, and to provide employment to the community through its construction and through the businesses that will occupy the centre. It is also meant to be a social meeting place for the community. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2016.
