University of Manitoba: Tache Hall Renovations

Conversion of the century-old student dormitory (c.1915) into the university’s new Taché Hall Music, Art and Theatre Complex. This complex renovation of 4-storeys and 200,000 sq. ft. involved a complete upgrade to the building’s envelope (insulating exterior walls, replacing all windows, new roof), entirely new mechanical and electrical systems, full building sprinklering (the original building was not sprinklered), and new construction to suit the academic needs of the Faculty of Music and School of Art. Taché Hall is a Georgian Revival-style building with classic symmetry and detailing matching the character of the original campus buildings.
